About The Granny Rose Animal Shelter

Granny Rose Animal Shelter is a not-for-profit organization established to help animals in need. We are lucky enough to have a few good employees and a lot of great volunteers. We do not euthanize simply because an animal’s “time is up”. We keep them until they can be placed in a good, “forever home.” Therefore, sometimes our pets may not move for awhile, but euthanizing a good animal simply because it’s perfect family has not found them yet is not an option.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!! Even an hour a week can make a lot of difference in a dog’s or cat’s life. They thrive and live for human attention...please, if you can donate any time at all, call Judy at 815-288-7387 or email and see what you can do to make a difference in a homeless pet’s life! The look in their eyes or lick of your face will keep you coming back! :-)

The Shelter hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays. We are located right off Route 2 (across from the Dixon Veterinary Hospital) We now have a new/different road entrance, so please slow down to be certain you don’t miss it.
